The first in a series of seven laminated cards offering anecdotal histories of the Soldiers Home and the contemporary WLA-VA, "VA Tales #1" includes stories of an 1889 scandal concerning Soldiers Home conditions, a 1981 hunger strike, the Balloon Route, the Woman’s Cottage Garden, and the source of land donor John Jones's wealth in silver mining. Designed and printed on laminated cards, the Tales are available in SF's Welcome Tent.
